The third concert in this year’s edition of the festival featured the Gaudos Duo in a concert at the Jesus of Nazareth Church, Xaghra on Sunday 18th March @ 19.30hrs. Hungarian violinists David Land and Emese Toth exceptionally played a number of unaccompanied duets ranging from the Baroque to the 20th century. For the last number, a medley of British traditional Airs, Hornpipes & Reels, they were joined by guest Canadian guitarist Sean Gurd. The very good audience in attendance, led by Xaghra Mayor, Joseph Cordina – whose council was collaborating once more in the organisation of the concert – and Gaulitana artistic director, Mro. Colin Attard, enthusiastically reacted to the performers’ technical bravura with long bouts of applause.
