“Last August, on the eve of the Feast of the Assumption of our Lady, I had the opportunity to be a spectator during the rendition of Rossini’s Barbiere di Siviglia at the Teatro Greco di Taormina. It goes without saying that such a historical venue is already a breathtaking one.
However, Castiglione managed to brilliantly convey the effervescence of what makes the Barber of Seville a wonderful operatic comedy, in an original set-up made up of various frames out of which the characters give life to this masterpiece. The innovative set-up and the immortal music made such an opera a truly remarkable experience. Chapeau!”
