This year’s sixth edition of Gaulitana: A Festival of Music kicks off on Sunday 11th March, with a concert at St. Augustine Church, Victoria starting at 19.30hrs. During this concert, entitled “A Sacred Choral Opening”, the Gaulitanus Choir and its soloists present a number of sacred works – which, to give homogeneity to the programme are all in the english language. Pride of place is given to “Easter Trilogy”, a cantata in 3 sections for narrators and choir, by American composer Benjamin Harlan, which will be premiered in the maltese islands. Other works, including a number of medleys and arrangements specifically made up for the occasion, will make up the rest of the programme. The latter will also feature several of the choir’s soloists. As usual Stephen Attard will be the accompanist with the choir’s founder-director Colin Attard at the helm.
Entrance for the concert – as for all the other concerts – is free of charge.
