Gozo’s Gaulitanus Choir will as usual round up the several musical events during the festive season in the sister island with another edition of its annual End-of-Festive Season Concert. This is being held, in collaboration with the Gozo Culture Office, at the Kempinski Hotel, San Lawrenz on Thursday, 6th January 2011. The concert starts at 19.30 hours and entrance is free.

Entitled ‘Epiphany Joys’, the concert will feature the choir – fresh from its successful concert-tour of Florence – in various medleys of Christmas numbers specifically arranged for the occasion by the choir’s musical director, Colin Attard, which hence will all be performed for the first time. The artistic director indeed has opted to differ from the normal Christmas musical fare in Gozo and go for a completely secular and rather atypical – albeit very popular – repertoire, ranging from waltzes to polkas and from spirituals to swing, in order to create a highly festive atmosphere full of bounce, excitement and oomph.

The concert will also feature the choir’s soloists Marthese Borg, Joseph Buttigieg, Josianne Callus, Rita Dimech, Fabian Galea, Francesca Sciberras and Annabelle Zammit. Besides brothers Jean Noel and Pierre Louis Attard will complete the line-up presenting some violin duos in line with concert’s theme.

The choir’s pianist, Stephen Attard, will accompany with Mro. Colin Attard conducting.
