The Gaulitanus Choir was once more invited to participate in the Lejlet Lapsi – Notte Gozitana, indeed to give a sacred concert at the Gozo Cathedral on Saturday 11th May at 20.00hrs.

The artistic director went for a sacred but rather light programme in the English language – except for one number – with music by Ortolani, Temple, Newton, Lovland, King, Rodgers, Ketelbey, Brodszky and Adams. Besides 4 songs from the musical revelation “No Ordinary Man” by South African composer Michael du Preez were given their Malta premiere. This choice proved to be very interesting and flowing and was very well-received by the audience. Besides the choir, which also included its junior section, the concert prominently featured choir soloists soprano Patricia Buttigieg, mezzo-soprano Marthese Borg, alto Francesca Sciberras, tenor Terry Shaw, and bass-baritone Ian Grech. Moreover, violinist Pierre Louis Attard performed 2 solo numbers besides accompanying a few others. The accompanists were Stephen Attard and Colin Attard, with the latter also conducting.
