July 23, 2009 | Author: The Gaulitanus Choir | Filed under: Latest News

Yesterday at 9.00pm, the Gaulitanus Choir presenting "A Night with the Musicals" on the St. John’s Demi-Bastion at the Cittadella. This was organised by the Gozo Culture Council within the Ministry for Gozo as a part of the "Gran Castello Summer Nights" series of events.
The choir interpreted selections from well known musicals such as Lionel Bart’s "Oliver!", Richard Rodger’s "The Sound of Music", Andrew Lloyd Webber’s "The Phantom of the Opera", Michel Schonberg’s "Les Miserables" and Fredrick Lowe’s "My Fair Lady" - which went down very well with the audience.
As is normal, the choir’s soloists: sopranos Stephanie Portelli, Annabelle Zammit, Maria Grech Magro and Margaret Plant, the mezzo-sopranos Marthese Borg and Patricia Buttigieg, Tenors Terry Shaw and Joseph Buttigieg, and bass Darren Vella took a leading part in this concert which also featured as a guest singer the Gozitan-Americal soprano Pamela Agius.
As usual the choir was accompanied by the resident pianist Mro. Stephen Attard and was under the direction of Mro. Colin Attard.
