On Tuesday, 27th April, the Exhibition Hall at the Ministry for Gozo hosted the first of two vocal recitals, both scheduled for the final week of the festival. British soprano Sharon Wilson accompanied by British pianist Sue De’Ath was the protagonist was the protagonist of the recital entitled "Expressions of love".
Indeed all excerpts, whether the operatic ones by Mozart, Bellini, Puccini, Pergolesi and Giordano, or the semi-classical ones by Novello, Lloyd Webber, Sullivan, Gershwin and Wright/Forrest had love, in its various facets, as a theme. Loewe’s "I could have danced" was given as an encore.
