The Gaulitanus Choir has launched the 7th edition of Gaulitana: A Festival of Music. Being held between the 21st March and the 4th May 2013, the festival features a series of concerts in various venues in Gozo (with the odd concert also in Malta). International and local performers, whether orchestras, choirs, chamber ensembles and soloists will present a diversity of musical styles, from sacred to secular, from serious to light, from chamber to orchestral. Artistically directed by Gaulitanus Choir founder-director Colin Attard, the festival not only features established performers but also gives adequate space to up-and-coming talent.
Gaulitana is outreaching, emphasizing its quest to hold performances in various localities, and relies on its collaboration with government agencies, local councils, churches, hotels, corporate bodies and cultural entities in order to keep fostering musical culture and enjoyment.
The festival’s sponsors are: the Malta Arts Fund, The Ministry for Gozo, Verso l’Arte, Istituto Nazionale di Arte Contemporanea, Istituto Italiano di Cultura, the Russian Centre for Science and Culture, the Victoria, Xaghra and Xewkija Local Councils, The Gozo Cultural Office, Michael Grech Financial Services, Bank of Valletta and JDB Digital Printing.
