Alexander Frey, Artist-in-Residence at Gaulitana, continues his popular multi-media lecture-recitals by exploring the complexities of Cole Porter’s life and music.

One of the most important popular songwriters of the 20^th century, Cole Porter became one of the leading composers on Broadway, as well as for the great film musicals of the golden age of Hollywood. Possessing a great wit, he was the first theatre composer to also be his own lyricist – his song texts are considered as brilliant as his music.

The event also explores Porter’s private life was as sophisticated and as complex as his music and lyrics.
