CALENDAR OF UPCOMING EVENTS

The Gaulitanus Choir is in for a week of hectic but important events. On Monday 29^th November the choir will be giving a private concert for H. E. the President of the Republic, Dr. George Abela and Mrs Abela at the Russian Chapel, San Anton Palace. This is the second time that the choir will be singing for the President of the Republic. Indeed in 2007 a concert was given at the same venue during the tenure of Dr. Edward Fenech Adami. As requested by the President’s secretariat the choir will be performing music from the musical theatre – a genre which the choir has often presented with great success during these last two years, indeed also giving quite a new dimension to choral singing in Gozo.

On Thursday 2^nd December the choir will fly to Italy for a concert-tour in Firenze (Italy) following an invitation by the Tedavi ’98 production house. The Gozitan choir will be having several singing commitments, whether concerts or sung masses, in such important venues as the San Lorenzo and Santa Croce Basilicas, the St. Mark’s English Church – which is so renowned as a concert venue – and the Sta. Felicita Church.

These commitments were also meant to be part of the events celebrating the choir’s 20^th anniversary and, indeed, they will surely enhance in no small way the programme of events held throughout the year.

As if these were not enough, in between these two major events the Gaulitanus Choir will also kick-off its Christmas events by carolling atthe Christmas Market organized by the Victoria Local Council at St. George’s Square on Tuesday 30^th November between 17.30 and 19.00 hrs.This would be the first of several commitments for the festive season which will end up with a grand concert at the Kempinski Hotel, San Lawrenz on January 6^th 2011.
