The Gaulitana: A Festival of Music proceeded with the third evening in its itinerary for 2008 with the La Maltija …Traditional Local Music and Food held at the Gozo Heritage in Ghajnsielem.
The evening began in the large courtyard where the Gaulitanus choir, unusually 
dressed in traditional
local attire of the days gone by with white shirts and dark trousers held up by a colourful sash, waistcoats and a traditional cap or two, performing a medley of local folk music which included amongst many others such songs as "Viva
Two of choir members acted the part of the orchestra, helped by Jean-Noel Attard on the violin and Pierre-Louis Attard with the triangle and tambourine, while the erstwhile maestro Colin Attard played the double bass!
After the medley the choir took on a more serious note and sang Mro. Carmelo Pace’s "L-Imnarja" which was very well received by the very numerous audience.
Afterwards the choir with the guests moved inside to the very spacious bar area, where some of the choir members now took the part of waiters and handed out the prepared food and drinks whilst the guests listened to The Saguna Group which performed traditional local music on traditional musical instruments such as the "tanbur" and the "żafżafa" (a friction drum) which proved to be very popular with the guests!
On Saturday, 5th April 2008 the performers are the 1st prize winners of the Austrian Competition "Prima La Musica". The program includes the Amadè Quartet which will perform pieces by Haydn and Müllenbach, followed by the Pianoflauti Trio and their guests which will perform Irish traditional Music, as well as works by Beethoven, Kreisler, Godard, Mouquet, Aigner, Mower, Krebs, Genzmer and Kronke.
On Sunday, 6th April, 2008 the performers will be the soloists of the Gaulitanus Choir who will perform works by Verdi, Puccini, Giordana, Glück, Handel and Catalani.
