The Gaulitanus Choir was one of the participants at the launching of the National Cultural Policy 2021, held on Tuesday 28th September at the gorgeous courtyard of the Museum for Natural History (Palazzo Vilhena) and organised by the Cultural Directorate within the Ministry for the National Heritage, the Arts and Local Government.
The other participants were the Malta Youth Orchestra Wind Ensemble, an ensemble from the Malta Concert Orchestra, Zfin Malta dancers, representatives from Teatru Malta and The New Victorians, reader Rachelle Deguara, and Muzika Muzika winner Glenn Vella.
The Gaulitanus Choir, directed by its founder-director Colin Attard, came out with flying colours interpreting two Carmelo Pace unaccompanied folk-inspired and festa-themed choral excerpts, Lapsi and L-Imnarja.
The event was presided by the Honourable Minister Jose Herrera, and attended by the top brass in the country’s cultural field, including culture director Mario Azzopardi, Arts Council Malta chairman Albert Marshall, Heritage Malta CEO Noel Zammit, Cultural Heritage Superintendent Kurt Farrugia, Valletta Cultural Agency chairman Jason Micallef and Gozo culture director John Xuereb.
