The 220th anniversary of the French invasion of Malta was commemorated in grand style in Gozo. Indeed, in the weekend of the 9-10 June, the island witnessed the biggest re-enactment ever held in Malta and Gozo.
The male section of the Gaulitanus Choir took part in this highly colourful event´s concluding Te Deum service held at the Citadel Square – of course by singing the Te Deum. This represented the surrender of the French and the start of a 2-year autonomous rule for Gozo.
The event was organized by the Historical Re-enactment Groups of Malta.
