The Gaulitanus Choir will very shortly kick off its 22nd venture abroad, concert touring Poland between the 6th and the 10th December. The choir will be participating in the upcoming 8th edition of the Prof Jozef Swider International Festival.
Under the leadership of its musical director Colin Attard, the Gaulitanus Choir will give 3 concerts on its own, in Krakow, Ustroǹ and Gorzyce, and, true to its ambassadorial role, the repertoire will consist exclusively of Maltese music, mostly in the Maltese language. The choir will then will join the other participating choirs from Poland, Ukraine, Latvia and Slovakia for the festival’s grand finale in Cieszyn, the Prof Jozef Swider International Festival’s home.
This choir’s first ever trip to Poland is a result of an exchange venture with the Silesian Chamber Choir Ad Libitum, who should then be coming over to Gozo for the upcoming edition of Gaulitana: A Festival of Music.
Indeed, this is the third international collaboration in 2023 ensuing from the choir’s international networking as a result of its Gaulitana: A Festival of Music. Whereas in July the Gaulitanus Choir concert toured Venice and Padua and prestigiously brought to an end the 3rd edition of the reputable Vivaldi Festival in Venice organized by the Associazione Vivaldi Festival, a few weeks ago Gaulitana’s artistic director Colin Attard and coordinator Pierre Louis Attard gave a recital in Arezzo organized by the Doremi International Music Academy.
