The second week of the festival comes to an end on Saturday 12th March, when Swiss-born Chinese top pianist Mélodie Zhao will give a solo recital entitled “Romantic Virtuosism”. Zhao is considered “one of the most talented and multifaceted musicians of the new generation”, and also a conductor. She has performed with several major orchestras, recorded substantially and participated in new atypical projects which help to bring classical music closer to the wider public. At the Gaulitana platform, she will perform a technically extravagant repertoire of works by Chopin and Liszt.
The concert, being held at the Kempinski Hotel San Lawrenz, is a collaboration with the China Cultural Centre.
