Right at the start of the New Year, Gaulitana: A Festival of Music was involved in another international artistic collaboration. Indeed, on January 4th, festival team member Pierre Louis Attard conducted a concert at Villa Bertelli, Forte dei Marmi, Italy – yet another collaboration between the festival and the Associazione Musicale Diapason APS.
Entitled “Bach Experience”, the concert – part of the ‘Le Feste in Villa’ concert season 2025-26 and which launched the cultural new year at the Villa –, was an immersive journey into the 3 violin concertos of Johann Sebastian Bach, namely the 2 Concertos for solo violin BWV 1041 and BWV 1042, and the Concerto for Two Violins BWV 1043. Truly, this was a rather rare and precious opportunity to hear live the complete cycle of works that have shaped the history of Baroque music.
Eleonora Sofia Podestà was the soloist in the solo concertos, with Aurora Duchi teaming up with Chiara Podestà for the double concerto. The Orchestra da Camera Musicosofia accompanied and opened the concert with the Aria from the Suite in D Major MWV 1068.
The highly captivating, fully booked and very favourably received event proved to be an international gathering dedicated to musical excellence, where tradition, depth, and vision merged into an intense and engaging listening experience.
