A particularly significant event in the choir’s calendar was animating the liturgy during the nuptial mass of chorister and one of the choir’s soloists Patricia Buttigieg. Held at the Qala Parish Church on Saturday, May 14th, the choir was joined by the Gaulitanus String Orchestra and guest soprano Miriam Cauchi (Patricia’s vocal tutor). The choir’s own soprano Stephanie Portelli also performed a solo number. Choir director Colin Attard conducted, as well as prepared some new musical arrangements for the occasion.
Whereas all the varied musical excerpts performed were thoroughly enjoyed by the congregation, a very poignant moment was reached during the Communion when Patricia Buttigieg herself gave a rendition of Nino Rota’s “A Time for Us”.
