DAY 1:
A very early ferry crossing from Gozo was followed by a morning flight to Venezia-Treviso. Upon landing, the group was transferred by private coach to its base, the Hotel Campanile in Venezia-Mestre. After a quick lunch in the surroundings, the choir members left by train for the short transfer to Venezia.
Welcomed by the Vivaldi Festival artistic director Enrico Castiglione, the Gaulitanus Choir members walked through picturesque central Venice up to the San Salvador Church, the venue of the festival’s concluding concert the day after. A short choral rehearsal preceded a much longer session with the Vivaldi Festival Orchestra – which was to accompany the choir and the soloists.
After a break which allowed all to explore a little of the charms at the very heart of Venice, the choir brought a very long day to an end by joining the festival’s artistic director for dinner in the surroundings.
