‘A String Finale’ will bring Gaulitana’s ‘A Cappella Live’ series to a close on Sunday 4th December. The concert will be held at St Anthony of Padua Church in Ghajnsielem at 19:30hrs with the collaboration of the Għajnsielem Local Council.
The Gaulitanus String Orchestra (Leader: Marcelline Agius) under the baton of Gaulitana artistic director Colin Attard will be in attendance. Typical of the several Gaulitanus Choir-organized concerts the orchestra participated in during the past years, the repertoire will be a varied and highly interesting one, as well as quite representative of the repertoire for strings. Indeed, the works being performed range from Mozart’s all-time favourite ‘Eine Kleine Nacht Musik’ to Sibelius’s famous ‘Impromptu’ and Jenkins’s very well-known ‘Palladio’, along with other contrasting works by Kalinnikov, Lysenko, Elgar as well as Malta’s internationally-renowned composer Charles Camilleri. Truly, a feast of music for strings is in stock!
Gaulitana: A Festival of Music, an EFFE-labelled festival organised by the Gaulitanus Choir, is supported by the ICOG programme of Arts Council Malta and the Ministry for Gozo.
