The 19th edition of Gaulitana presents a multifarious programme of concerts and recitals as international and local artists star in an eclectic mix of musical styles. Defined “a major festival of classical music” by Musical Opinion (UK), events shall be held in multiple venues around Gozo.
The 2026 run offers a focus on choral activity as the educational programme GAULearn runs in parallel – the month-long cultural bonanza seeks to engage with aficionados and new audiences alike.
Gaulitana also celebrates the 125th death anniversary of Giuseppe Verdi with the festival highlight – Il Trovatore, a masterpiece of melodies and vocal fireworks. Held as part of the OPERA+ Weekend, the full-scale production features an international cast directed by Enrico Castiglione under the baton of Colin Attard
Gaulitana: A Festival of Music, organised by the Gaulitanus Choir, is principally supported by the Investment in Cultural Organisations – Gozo of Arts Council Malta and the Ministry for Gozo partnered by APS Bank.
Gaulitana runs from 28 March to 26 April. Festival events are free of charge and no reservations are required.
