Gozitan musicians Pierre Louis Attard and Francis Camilleri teamed up for an enchanting duo recital.

The concert paired two sonatas by Handel & Mendelssohn – both with a common tonality and written in the initial career stages of the composers – alongside two miniatures imbued with Viennese and Czech musical idioms.

The Duo held a mini-residency at Gaulitana, with a first recital discovering traits and nuances of French music by Poulenc, Ravel and Milhaud.

The saxophone, intrinsically associated with the musical culture of the country and patented in Paris in the 19^th century, served as an ideal medium for audiences to immerse themselves in this spirit.

The second concert by the Saxophone & Piano Duo celebrated 20^th and 21^st century music.

Presenting works by Gershwin as well as contemporary compositions, including two oeuvres by Colin Attard, the evening featured a Collao León world premiere.
