The Gaulitanus Choir has appeared in the 2020 digital edition of the World Choir Festival on Musicals for Peace organised by the Diavlos organisation of Thessaloniki, Greece.
Intended to enhance peace and friendship worldwide, the festival featured more than 3000 choristers forming 72 choirs from 40 countries and has been dubbed as “the largest digital Choir Festival ever held”.
Introduced by some shots of Gozo’s national shrine of Ta’ Pinu, the Gaulitanus Choir’s chosen excerpt was Charles Camilleri’s “L-Ghanja tas-Sajf”. This was recorded live during a matinee concert at the Theatre Municipal of Bastia in Corsica (France) as part of the Rencontres Musicales de Mediterranee in November 2019.
