After a half day reserved to sightseeing Riga, the choir gathered at St Peter’s Church to prepare for its last concert. Initially the choir had a rehearsal on its own before being joined by the Blagovest Orthodox Chamber Choir, who was due to team with the Gaulitanus Choir for the final part of the concert.
The concert itself was a huge success. The very big audience which attended reacting very positively to the programme of Maltese music presented by the Gaulitanus, just as much as it greatly appreciated the 2 Rachmaninoff’s numbers performed jointly – one directed by Blagovest’s musical director Alexandrs Brandavs.
The final joint Latvian number had to be encored following the audience’s insistence. Towards the end of the concert Gaulitanus director, Colin Attard presented a memento to Mro Brandavs, also auguring more potential future collaborations.
