Gaulitana will be presenting a concert entitled Id-Dar tan-Nanna, a celebration of Maltese songs on Saturday 14th April, 2018 at Oratorju Don Bosco. Maltese singer/songwriter Corazon shall perform, accompanied by a live band and featuring the Gaulitanus Choir. Proceeds from the evening will go to Puttinu Cares, a philanthropic entity supporting children suffering with cancer.
Corazon has established herself as a leading figure in song writing in the Maltese language. She won the festival ‘L-Ghanja tal-Poplu’ on four occasions with songs she penned: “Hawn Jien”, “Mill-Ghajnejn tat-Tifla”, “Tal-Ahhar” and “X’se Jsir?”. She released her debut album in 2014, “Hawn Jien” and currently is working on her second.
For id-Dar tan-Nanna, Corazon band will feature well-know musicians Simone Attard (piano), Anthony Saliba (bass), Sandro Grech (drums & percussion), Alfred Fenech (Oboe), Alex Mizzi (guitar) and Neville Refalo (Guest Singer).
Id-Dar tan-Nanna is part of the MusicAlive series, a new initiative of Gaulitana aimed at presenting live music to wider audiences. This series will include the Gaulitanus Choir soloists in a ‘Tea Party with the Musicals’ at Ta’ Cenc on Sunday 8th April and jazz band Swing Nuages in a Lounge Night at Zeppi’s Pub on Friday 20th April.
