After a forced absence of a few years, during which the festival’s input in the operatic genre was restricted to virtual grand cinematic productions of operatic scenes, live opera returns to Gaulitana: A Festival of Music in 2023. Indeed, the Gaulitanus Choir has announced that the highlight of the festival’s forthcoming 16th edition will be Giuseppe Verdi best-loved opera “La Traviata”.
The operatic production will be held on Saturday 29th April 2023 at Gozo’s Teatru tal-Opra Aurora, and online booking will open soon on http://www.teatruaurora.com. “La Traviata” will provide a top “off-season” operatic treat in Gozo to compliment the October operas currently being produced at the island’s two principal theatres – as has always been the case with Gaulitana.
