Animating the nuptial mass of one of its choristers is always an exciting event for the Gaulitanus Choir. Indeed, this was again the case on March 19th, when it was the turn of Stephanie Portelli, a long-standing member of the choir and one of its soloists. Held at the Annunciation of Our Lady Church, Carmelite Priory, Mdina, the choir was joined by a String Quartet led by Marcelline Agius.
The choir performed a few numbers for the first time, namely Bruckner’s ‘Locus Iste’, Goodall’s ‘The Lord is My Shepherd’ (with the solo line delivered by the choir’s soprano soloist Annabelle Zammit), and Rutter’s ‘The Lord Bless You and Keep You’, whilst also premiering an ‘Ave Maria’ by choir director Colin Attard (featuring guest soprano Miriam Cauchi as soloist).
